Abstract:
Es gibt bislang keine umfassende Berichterstattung über das Tierwohl in der landwirtschaftlichen Nutztierhaltung in Deutschland. Um dies zu ändern, hat das Bundesministerium für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft ein Konsortium aus zehn Institutionen beauftragt, ein Konzept für die Durchführung eines nationalen Tierwohl-Monitorings zu entwickeln. In diesem Projekt "Nationales Tierwohl-Monitoring" hat das Statistische Bundesamt die Nutzbarkeit bestehender (amtlicher) Daten untersucht sowie geprüft, ob es möglich ist, neue tierwohlrelevante Daten mithilfe einer freiwilligen Erhebung nach §7 Absatz 2 Bundesstatistikgesetz zu erheben. Der in diesem Beitrag beschriebene Monitoring-Ansatz verfolgt das Ziel, die Tierwohl-Situation in landwirtschaftlichen Betrieben, Aquakulturbetrieben, Schlachtbetrieben und auf Kontroll- und Sammelstellen abzubilden.

There is currently no comprehensive reporting on animal welfare in livestock farming in Germany. To remedy this, the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture instructed a consortium of ten institutions to develop a strategy for the implementation of a national animal welfare monitoring system. In this "National Animal Welfare Monitoring" project, the Federal Statistical Office examined the usability of existing (official) data and explored whether it is possible to collect new animal welfare-related data with a voluntary survey pursuant to Section 7 (2) of the Federal Statistics Act. The monitoring approach presented in this article aims to capture the animal welfare situation in agricultural holdings, aquaculture businesses, slaughterhouses, control posts and assembly centres.
